Eiffel Tower

Kids had a great time seeing the Eiffel Tower on Wednesday Sept 4. We arrived from the Trocadero metro station that has a fantastic view across and it was beautiful in the setting sun.
We walked across to the tower and I was amazed by how much change there has been to the plaza under the tower. Gone are the days of wandering around a big empty space under it and lying on the lawns that stretch out before it. However, we didn't encounter many lines or delays as we went through security and entered through tall walls that enclose the tower and hide a landscaped walkway area and ponds. As we went up to the top, the sun had begun to set so the lights were on and sparkling on the 9 o'clock hour just as we flew up in the elevator. The boys sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

We quite enjoyed it, though there was quite a line to descend in the elevator. Adam stayed awake for all but the descent. From the second floor we took the stairs down which was quite fun and not crowded at all!

We saw the tower sparkle at the 10 o'clock hour as we reached the bottom of the 400+ stairs - Sam and Andrew actually counted! And yes, Dave did carry Adam down all those stairs.

After a metro ride home and a family game of Monopoly Deal, we were tuckered out. We happily went to sleep after seeing the tower sparkle again on the 11 o'clock hour from our apartment!
