So after a few pizza experiences in the UK - both Britain and Scotland - we feel like we have a handle on the general pizza experience here.
The first UK was pizza in Diana's Memorial Garden Playground in London (nice playground, BTW). Note the look of concentration on Andrew's face as he contemplates his pizza. This was a great surprise, because although we ordered ham on our pizza, what actually came out on the pizza was BACON. Well, cheese pizza purist or not, Andrew had to try this one and he LOVED it.
We went out another night to the Italian-Scottish restaurant (run by a polish gentleman) that we can see from our bedroom window and he ordered the ham pizza again - asking to make sure that the ham actually was going to be bacon again.
And tonight, as we walked home from what may be our favorite playground so far, we happened upon another pizza joint - High Dive Pub & Pizza Bar - close to the Edinburgh Meadows. We were hungry, the lovely artichokes we had purchased at the farmer's market would still be 30-45 minutes away from going into the oven, so we took the plunge. The tortilla chip pizza was a little too odd for us to order, but the three we had were lovely (including the sausage, balsamic vinegar and buffalo mozzarella pizza). Here we are enjoying our pizza.
And here is Andrew's review of the pizza at the High Dive. I think it is quite descriptive of the other pizzas we have had here in the UK.
To top it off, we finished off the meal with "donuts" - that were effectively donut holes made from their pizza dough, with sides of clotted cream and Nutella for dipping. The kids were in heaven!

So fun to see your pizza adventures!
